"I'm visiting Louisville on Monday," Watford said. "I may visit (Kentucky) but that's up to my dad. I know we're going to Louisville. I don't know about any other visits. We'll see about Kentucky when we get there."
While a side trip to Kentucky is a possibly, without question, Watford says, the purpose for his trip north from Alabama is to visit Louisville.
"Louisville is recruiting me hard," Watford said. "They have good tradition and Coach Pitino does a good job with his players. And they have good facilities. Richard Pitino stays in touch with me and I like him. I have a good relationship with him."
Watford, who was considered one of the top prospects in the 2009 class before the start of the AAU season, has cemented his spot in Scout.com's Top 50 with strong play this spring. Last week, Watford led the talent-laden Bob Gibbons Tournament in scoring, averaging an impressive 26.5 points during the event.
"I feel like I've played real well," said Watford. "I think I've shown people my inside-outside game, my strength and versatility and the ability to handle the ball."
While Watford lists Indiana, Texas, Memphis, Alabama, Louisville and Kentucky among his favorites, the versatile forward says he isn't close to making a decision.
"I'm still open and I'm not really trying to narrow things down," Watford said. "I'm very wide-open."
