Jamal is being recruited by several big time programs and maintains that he does not have any favorites at this time. But when asked what schools stand in the forefront of his mind he had this to say. "The schools that stand out right now are Miami, South Florida, Ole Miss, Louisville, Michigan State, and Central Florida." And all the schools mentioned by Jamal have offered a full scholarship.
Standing 6 feet tall and 175 pounds Reid has the size and skills to play on either side of the ball. The term playmaker comes to mind as you watch his film in his profile. Does he have a preference which side he plays at the next level?
"Well right now I feel that I am the best at receiver. I am working on my DB skills a lot, and working to get better. But right now I would have to say I feel more comfortable at receiver," said Reid. "I am working on making cut, and breaking on cuts. I have the speed to keep up with any receiver so I just need to work on making plays on the ball." Reid is being recruited as an athlete by most schools including Louisville. But Jamal maintains that Louisville is most likely pursuing his services as a defensive back.
Jamal is coming off an outstanding junior campaign that saw him amass 40+ catches for over 1000 yards receiving, and on the defensive side 45 tackles and 10 interceptions.
When starting to narrow his focus Jamal says he has a support system that will help guide through the process.
"Me and my coach want to sit down and look at each of the schools recruiting me. I am looking for a place where I can be at home for 4 years, and have a good coaching staff. I will be looking at what position they want me to play, and I will make the decision that will be best for me and my family," said Reid.
And when speaking of decisions Jamal says that he and his coach will look to narrow his list over the summer. Then they will probably take all five of his official visits. But no time table has been set for his decision.
