"I like Deion sanders even though we don't play the same position. I like his attitude and the way he goes about things. He is just my idol because of all the things that he accomplished, and the way he has handled his businesses and his family," said James. And Mike does that attitude come across on the football field as well? "No I am not a big talker like Deion, but when I get pumped up I might talk a little bit," said James with a laugh.
Mike also had plenty to say about the University of Louisville who has extended a scholarship to the talented runner.
"I really like Louisville a lot. I always talking to Coach Alford on the phone, he is a really cool guy. They came down to my school to see me and we had a great talk. And when we talk on the phone it is always great as well," said James. "I just love the way they handle things, and Louisville is in my top three right now. I am really big on Louisville, and the ways that they have planned to get me the ball. I just really love Louisville and I am just trying to see where I really want to go," continued James.
"I just love that will they find ways to get me the ball. Playing time and with Miami being in state is good. And Illinois are really cool guys and I like them. Those are the schools you know that really fit me best," said James.
Mike said that he has not taken any unofficial visits and will probably just wait and make his five official visits.
"I have not taken a visit to Louisville, but I will be taking an official visit to Louisville. The five official visits that I am probably going to take will be to Louisville, Illinois, Miami, Kentucky, and Boston College," said James.
James who rushed from over 1100 yards and 15 touchdowns says that he is a weapon and all you need to do is to give him the ball.
"The strengths of my game are my hands, I can catch the ball. I really have the ability to run over you, or go around you. And if it is 3rd and 3 and you need a first down give me the ball. If it is third and anything give me the ball and I feel I can get it done," said James.
And he has the work ethic to match as he says he has the drive to be as good as possible.
"I want to work on my explosion, getting faster, and getting smarter as a football player. I spend time watching my season last year, and even though I had a great year last season there are still things I could have done better. That is what I want to do is continue to get better. Better than I was three months ago, and better than I was yesterday," said James.
Mike said that he is looking for a place to call home and he says that when he finds that he has no problem pulling the trigger with a commitment.
"I want to make my decision by the middle of my senior year, but if I like what I see somewhere then I would probably end it right there," said James.
