Cosby takes closer look at Louisville

Since his decommitment from the UMass Aaron Cosby has been weighing his options on the recruiting trail. His journey took him to the University of Louisville campus for a visit this week and he had good things to say about his experience.

Jeffersontown (KY)combo guard Aaron Cosby took a visit to the University of Louisville this week and got a better idea about what the university had to offer.

"I thought it was great. I got to meet all the coaches that were there, and some of the players that were there. And I got to tour the campus. It was a good experience for me," said Cosby. "I like the new practice gym. I liked the new weight room."

While on campus many players get a chance to play pick-up games with the players. Aaron also got a chance to display his talent to the players while he was there.

"I got to run in some pickup games with the players. I played pretty well, and did some good things," said Cosby.

While Aaron and got the meet and greet with most of the Louisville players and coaches the one man that he really wanted to speak with was not available.

"Coach Rick Pitino was not there, he was out of town. But I got to meet with Coach McCarty, Coach (Richard) Pitino, and a couple of the other coaches," said Cosby.

Aaron says that he is also considering Auburn, Minnesota, South Carolina, Miami (OH), and Tennessee with Miami (OH) having already offered a scholarship. Cosby said that Louisville has not extended a scholarship offer as of yet but one could be coming shortly.

"Coach Richard Pitino said that the next step is to have Coach Rick Pitino come out and watch me play. So he is going to come out sometime in the next month either to AAU, or during the school year," said Cosby.

The 6-3 180 pound Cosby described his game to those who have not had the opportunity to see him play.

"I can score off the dribble, and can play both guard positions. I am a good rebounder and I play good defense. I can knock down the open shot, and that is something that I have been improving on. But I think I will continue to get better. I'm a scorer a scoring type guard," said Cosby.

And though Coach Pitino was not there does his visit help Louisville in his recruitment?

"Yes it does. I am looking to take some more visits to look at all my options and taking my time, but it does help them (Louisville) out a lot," said Cosby.

Aaron says his next stop is back on the AAU circuit.

"Next month in July my AAU team is playing in the Hoopfest, and then we are going to Orlando for the super showcase," said Cosby.

But as far as narrowing things down Cosby still says he is a ways off from making any decisions.

"I'll probably make a shorter list of schools after my junior year. And by this time next year I will have it down to a couple of schools and make my decision," said Cosby.
