TN running back's recruitment at crossroads

Memphis area RB Gabriel Hunter is receiving interest from all over SEC country. And the University of Louisville has thrown their name into the ring as well. Hunter was looking to make a decision soon, but is that still the case?

Gabriel Hunter had gotten an idea of where he was going to school. He seemed poised to make an early commitment, now things seemed to have changed for the Kingsbury (TN) running back.

"Well I was going to make it (a decision) by the end of the summer, but I think I am going to wait," said Hunter. "But now I think I am going to take all five of my official visits."

Hunter is has received offers from some of the SEC's elite programs.

"I have offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma State, and Louisville," said Hunter. "I am pretty much wide open, but I like Alabama a lot."

Hunter put up ridiculous numbers as a junior totaling 2679 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns. But unlike most of the schools on his list Gabriel says that Louisville is interested in another aspect of his game besides running the ball.

"I like them (Louisville). They have offered me as a cornerback not a running back," said Hunter. Now the name that comes to mind when I hear this is sophomore Bilal Powell. Powell recruited to Louisville as a defensive back, but was moved to the offensive backfield during fall camp. Now only a commitment and time will tell to see where this would go. Hunter says that he has yet to make a visit to Louisville will take time this summer to make an unofficial visit.

Gabriel who is attending Ole Miss Camp this summer says that he has the goods to perform at a high level.

"I am a good coverage cornerback though I have not played that position much in high school, and as a running back I think my vision is my best asset," said Hunter. "But still think I need to get stronger and faster."

Gabriel who is known as ‘LT' by his friends and teammates for San Diego running back Ladanian Tomlinson says that playing time, comfort level with the coaching staff, and relationship with the players on the team will be the biggest factors in his recruitment. I am going to take all five of my official visits.
