Louisville trip impressed South Carolina ATH

Derek Frost a 6-2 172 pound QB/WR prospect from Richland Northeast (SC) High School had the chance to get a good look at the Louisville program. And having made a previous trip there were several things he enjoyed about his visit. He went in depth with Inside the Ville.

The University of Louisville left a lasting impression on Richland Northeast (SC) QB Derek Frost. And having already made a visit to campus he has a clear understanding of the Cardinal program and its direction. He had plenty of good things to say about the team and facilities.

"I came to Louisville back in February for Junior Day. It was a nice campus, and I really enjoyed watching the team practice," said Frost. "Louisville is one of the places I really want to go to because I want to get away from home and be independent. I think Louisville would be a good situation for me."

Frost continued to speak on how impressed he was with both the facilities and coaching staff at Louisville.

"The facilities were top notch, and they are still building up there so it is only going to get better," said Frost. "I met with Coach Nord and some of the other coaches and they are great guys. They are pretty cool people, and really down to earth. They make you feel really at home."

The Louisville told Derek they are recruiting him as an athlete and will give him looks as both quarterback and wide receiver. There are several other schools that are giving Frost a hard look as well.

"Right now I am being recruited by Louisville, Army, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Maryland, Navy, and South Carolina," said Frost. "Maryland, North Carolina, and Army are probably recruiting me the hardest right now.

Derek also mentioned that he received an offer from New Mexico State recently, but to this point in his process he is still wide open.

Frost says that education will be something he looks at very seriously as he scouts different schools.

"Basically I am looking for a school where I can get a degree. I want to major in Business or Sports Management, something in the finance field. With playing time and coaching staff very important as well," said Frost.

Derek is in the process of planning some trips to take a look at more of the school pursuing his services.

"I want to take some trips, but I have not gotten anything planned as of yet. I will not be doing any camps because I am rehabbing from a knee injury I sustained during baseball season," said Frost.

But it looks to be a while before anything is settled in this recruitment.

"I plan on taking all of my official visits. And I will narrow down my list of schools after the season. So I can really concentrate on having a good senior season, "said Frost. "More than likely I will wait until signing day to make my decision."
