"I have a bunch of offers right now. I just received an offer from Arkansas yesterday, and I also have offers from USF, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Wake Forest, Syracuse and others," said Jenkins.
Jenkins has also received an offer from the University of Louisville and he says he is quite familiar with the program.
"Louisville is a team that I have always watched on TV. I have always been a big fan of Louisville. I like they way they spread around the ball, and I love the way they play ball period," said Jenkins. "I like the coaching staff and I loved watching Brian Brohm throw the ball on television. And they also had Pat Carter on the team and he came from my high school," Jenkins continued.
Jaquez says that his focus when looking at schools will be on stability of the head coach, academics, the graduation rate, and the type of programs the school offers. Being focused on academics is should always be a primary focus, but being a student of the game is key as well. This is an area where Jenkins says he excels as well.
"My awareness is my biggest strength. I am very smart on the field because I watch a lot of film before the game. Also my anticipation and a lot of coaches say I have good hips. My speed I have 4.4 speed and I like to hit," said Jenkins. "I am hitting the weights more and just getting stronger because you can never be too strong for football at any level."
Jenkins who was attending camp when we caught up with him says he is making more plans as well.
"Actually I am at the usf camp right now. I plan on going to take some visits during the fall, but I will be going to a couple more camps and also make some visits this summer as well," said Jenkins.
Jenkins is still wide open to this point though he did say that South Florida did have an advantage due to being so close to home. Yet to this point his selection process is pretty much a fluid situation.
"Actually before the season I plan on narrowing my list down to a top 5. And hopefully Louisville will make it into that top 5," said Jenkins. "Whenever I feel comfortable and I find a place that is right I will probably end my recruitment. If that is on signing day or during my senior season it will be just a feeling that myself and my family will decide."
