Dual-Threat QB anticipating Louisville trip

The University of Louisville has made a commitment to bringing more athletic talent to the quarterback position. One such prospect is Deerfield (FL) QB Denard Robinson and he is making plans to take a look at Louisville in the near future.

Denard Robinson burst on the scene at the Scout.com combine in Miami back in April. He was considered the top passer at the combine posting an outstanding 4.39 40-yard dash at 6-0 176 pounds. Robinson impressed the scouts with his arm as much as he did with his speed. This performance has brought a ton in interest and Robinson taking it all in stride.

"Right now I have so many offers I could not even tell you right now. But the schools that are showing me the most love right now are Florida, Central Florida, LSU, and South Florida," said Robinson.

Also high on the love meter is the University of Louisville who sent a scout to check out the jet quick quarterback.

"Louisville sent a scout to my school to watch me throw the ball. He was crazy about my talent and told me he really wanted me to come up there (Louisville) for a visit so I could throw for the coaches," said Robinson. "We talked about the school and how great it was up there and I just can't wait to see it. All I'm trying to do is get up there to see the school."

With so much interest coming his way Denard is trying to keep his options open for the time being.

"Everybody is even right now. I don't have any favorites to this point," said Robinson. "I am trying to go to a lot of camps and I want to do some unofficial visits before the summer is out as well."

Denard says the he is looking for the same environment in a college as he has with his current school.

"The environment, education, and the atmosphere around the team are very important to me. That is the way it is with my team we are like a family. We take care of each other and that is something I am looking for in a school," said Robinson.

Robinson threw for over 2000 yards and rushed for another 600 yards as a junior. He is an electric playmaker on the football field and he says he just needs the ball in his hands.

"I make it happen. I can make a play out of nothing, and I can make plays outside of the pocket," said Robinson. "I look at guys like Vince Young and Michael Vick. I try to be like those guys, those are the guys I look up to."

Robinson says that he will be taking all five of his official visits and will be making some decisions on narrowing his list soon.

"I would like to have my list narrowed to five by the start of the season. I am probably going to wait and make my decision on signing day," said Robinson.
