Mathison returning to Louisville for college?

Terry Mathison moved from Louisville to Texas last year and made a big impact for perennial power Killeen HS. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive tackle currently has two offers from Louisville and Houston. Could the talented lineman find his way back home to play his college ball?

After moving from Louisville Iroquois High, Terry Mathison quickly made his mark at his new Texas high school, earning All-District honors after recording 60 tackles, including 34 solo tackles.

Besides offers from Louisville and Houston, Mathison has also received interest from Colorado State, Oklahoma, Clemson, South Carolina and Baylor. Mathison said he might try to attend Baylor's camp later this month.

"Louisville's a good offer and I'm from (Louisville)," said Mathison, who still has family living in the Louisville area. "I would love to go there because it's close to home. I wouldn't have any problem going there. I think it would be fun coming back home."

Mathison said he also likes Houston. "I like their's very nice," Mathison said. "I like their football program. I like them."

Though Mathison seems to like the idea of possibly returning to Louisville for college, the standout lineman isn't ready to name favorites.

"I don't really have any favorites," said Mathison. "I would like to take some visits. I'm going to try to (visit) Clemson and South Carolina. I've already been to Louisville a few times and I've been around the university."

While Houston is recruiting Mathison to play on the offensive line, most programs, including Louisville, like him as a defensive tackle.

"I played defensive tackle last season," Mathison said. "Most everyone is recruiting as a defensive tackle except Houston wants me to play offensive line for them. I would rather play defensive line because I would rather hit someone than block them."
