Louisville one of Hazelett's three favorites

Ed Hazelett, the No. 26 tight end prospect in America, has turned his recruiting focus on three programs - one being Louisville. The Indianapolis (IN) Warren Central star also says one of the three schools is slightly out in front at the moment for his services. Who's on top for Ed Hazelett?

At the moment, Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati have emerged atop Edward Hazelett's list. "Right now why they've emerged so high is because they (all) throw the ball a lot and they all use their tight end productively," Hazelett said. "That's why those three schools stand out the most to me."

While Hazelett has narrowed his recruiting focus, he still hasn't set up any official visits. "I really haven't arranged any visits yet but I should be doing that pretty soon," said Hazelett.

So what does the 6-foot-9, 265-pound Hazelett like about his three favorites? Here's what he had to say about each program:

Louisville: "I got to see Louisville when I was at an AAU tournament this summer. So I got to see Louisville a little bit up close and got to see the campus. What I really like about Louisville is how all the facilities are close to each other. Even though it was the off-season, people around campus still made me feel so welcome."

Kentucky: "I've visited Kentucky for a game. I really like their facilities and when I was there the tight end had caught like ten balls. That really caught my eye. There too the fans were great and made us all feel welcome."

Cincinnati: "I've got a (former) teammate who plays there. I went there for junior day and I went to a basketball game with my ex-teammate. He told me how it would be a great fit for me and he feels that I can come in there and we both can play together. So that's why I'm considering Cincinnati."

While Hazelett says all three schools are about even on his list, he admits Kentucky is a slight leader in his recruitment at the moment.

"Right now UK kind of does (standout) but they're all pretty even because I haven't met with the head coaches yet," Hazelett said. "So right now they're all about the same but Kentucky's out in front just a little bit."

How will he ultimately decide between the three programs? "Whoever impresses my mom and just makes me feel at home," Hazelett said.
