Gamble says it's a Big East showdown

Austin Gamble, a three-star linebacker from Cypress Bay, Fla., has two Big East programs at the top of his list. Who's on top for the talented 6-foot-3, 225-pound 'backer?

Two Big East programs have emerged as the favorites in Austin Gamble's recruitment.

"Right now the favorites in my recruitment are Louisville and Pittsburgh," said Gamble.

The two Big East programs are solidly a top Gamble's current list of favorites and will have to put their best foot forward when the athletic linebacker makes official visits to both programs this fall.

"I would watch Louisville a lot on T.V. when I was younger. I really love the defense and think that I would really fit in there," said Gamble.

"I (also) know the (Pittsburgh) coaching staff well and some of the players up there I know from back home. I used to play against a lot of them," Gamble added.

Gamble said besides visiting Pittsburgh and Louisville he will also probably take trips to Florida and Wake Forest. While on these visits, Austin says that he will be paying close attention to what each program has to offer.

"I will be looking at how I fit in with the kids there and also the other players. And academically I will be looking to find a major that I like," said Gamble.

Gamble is looking forward to his senior season and says that his final decision would likely come later this year.

"I will most likely make a decision after the football season when I get a chance to look around at the schools and really talk with the coaching staff," said Gamble.
