Pitino hosting top hoops recruits

It's a huge sports weekend in Louisville. The Cardinals open the 2008 season Sunday against Kentucky and will host several top-rated prospects. But the football program isn't the only team bringing in talented recruits for visits. Rick Pitino will also be busy hosting at least two highly-regarded members of the Class of 2010. InsideTheVille.com has the lowdown..

As InsideTheVille.com first reported several weeks ago, Louisville will play host to Tobias Harris, a top-rated 6-foot-8 junior forward from New York, this weekend. Harris will make his second unofficial to Louisville campus since June and he and his father are slated to check out the UofL/UK football game on Sunday.

Josh Selby will visit Louisville
this weekend.

Harris, a four-star prospect and the No. 7 power forward in the nation, has been on the road all week. Before arriving in Louisville this weekend, Harris will have made unofficial visits to Virginia, Georgetown, Maryland and Syracuse.

According to Scout.com recruiting analyst Evan Daniels, the Cardinals will also be hosting five-star 2010 prospect Josh Selby from Hyattsville, Maryland. Selby, ranked the No. 2 point guard in the nation, is one of the elite scoring guards in the nation. Like Harris, Selby will also be taking his second unofficial visit to Louisville. Selby also visited Louisville in June. He's ranked No. 10 in the 2010 recruiting class nationally by Scout.com.

Two other talented prospects – 6-foot-4 2009 wing guard Durand Scott and 6-foot-4 2010 shooting guard Doron Lamb – are also expected to make visits to Louisville this weekend.

Scott, the No. 7 shooting guard in the nation, has Louisville on his short list. He plays for the same high school - Rice - that current Louisville point guard Edgar Sosa attended.

Lamb, a five star prospect, the ranked the No. 2 junior shooting guard nationally. Originally from New York, he'll attend Oak Hill Academy this fall. Lamb is being recruited by all the Big East and ACC heavy-weight programs.
