Martin gets big news on visit to Louisville

Justin Martin, the No. 5-rated small forward in the Class of 2010, paid a visit to Louisville earlier this week. During his trip to the ‘Ville,' the talented 6-foot-7 Martin received some pretty big news from Rick Pitino and the Cardinals.

"It was a great visit," said Martin, who added that his interest in Louisville is ‘high'. "I got to spend time with the players and it was a really nice campus. Everything was fairly new and I just like the players that they have their. Minardi Hall is real nice. How Coach Pitino's got it there is nice. It's top of the line. It was pretty cool."

Louisville got involved in Martin's recruitment after his strong performance in Orlando in late July. So the Cardinals invited the talented forward down for a visit Wednesday and showed him around the campus.

"They offered a scholarship while I was on my visit," said Martin. "It was just an honor that Rick Pitino wants me to play for his program. I kind of felt special. Coach Pitino showed us around the YUM! Center. Right now I just want to take my time and make sure I make the right decision."

Martin has no shortage of options and a pretty long list of suitors, including Florida, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Xavier, Dayton, Cincinnati, Memphis, Indiana, Purdue, Marquette, Tennessee. Martin has four offers from Louisville, Miami, Dayton, Cincinnati and Valparaiso.

"I don't have any favorites right now but (Louisville) is definitely in the running," Martin said. "I'll narrow my list down sometime this season. I'll probably make a decision next spring."

Martin will visit Xavier this weekend and will trip to Louisville again in the near future. "I want to go to a football and basketball game at Louisville," said Martin. "I think we're going to make that happen."
