Louisville a finalist for speedy McNeal

Marcus McNeal, a blazing wide receiver from Lakewood (FL) Ranch, has narrowed his list down to four BCS programs. Louisville has made McNeal's short list and family connections could work in the Cardinals favor.

In naming the finalists for his services, Florida speedster Marcus McNeal has an impressive list of suitors.

"I have Louisville, West Virginia, Ole Miss, and maybe Iowa State are the other teams that I am looking at right now," said McNeal. "I have offers from each of my finalists."

McNeal speaks highly of Cardinals and has a connection with Louisville.

"My sister lives up there," McNeal said. "I have not been to the campus but I want to take an official visit there. I feel good about Louisville right now. I've got them in my top four."

Having previously been clocked with an astounding 4.32 forty time the 6-0 175 pound McNeal says he sees an opportunity to make some things happen early at Louisville.

"It is a place where I think I could go in and make an impact early. I have talked to the coaches and they have been talking good about it. So it could be good," McNeal continued.

While he is still working hard to improve all areas of his game, McNeal says he has what it takes to be a big time player at the BCS level.

"I think my hand and my speed along with my route running are the strongest parts of my game. I worked this summer on being better at coming back to the ball on my routes," said McNeal.

McNeal's visits will play a major part of his decision.

"The atmosphere and how the coach reacts and how they act are things I will be looking at. How they act in different situations and stuff like that," said McNeal.

McNeal mentioned that he will likely make his visits after his season is completed, though he did not rule out possibly making a campus visit next weekend. A timetable for his decision is uncertain.
