Could Singleton commit early to Louisville?

While Louisville is still working to put their 2009 recruiting class together, Earlzo Singleton, a star junior from Chicago (IL) Clark H.S., could kick start the Cardinals 2010 recruiting efforts.

"I've spoken to coach (Greg) Nord of Louisville on several occasions and I've told him that I'm leaning towards them," Earlzo Singleton said.

Is Louisville pushing for a commitment?

"He wasn't the one bringing up the commitment, I was," Singleton said. "Louisville is where I want to go. He (Nord) told me they would love to have me. He likes my kick return ability and my ability to be a downfield threat."

While Singleton is leaning toward Louisville early, he's clearly a guy who enjoys the recruiting process. This season, Singleton has already made a pair of Big 10 unofficial visits and he'll make at least one more visit this season.

"I was at Illinois last weekend and I also visited Northwestern," said Singleton. "Illinois isn't showing me much interest. They're only showing a little interest."

Who is showing the 5-9, 160-pound Singleton the most early interest?

"Louisville -- Louisville, Maryland, Indiana and Southern Miss," Singleton said. "Louisville has offered. Maryland is close to making an offer. Indiana is going to offer when I go there for a visit. And Southern Miss has already offered."

Singleton plans a visit to Louisville in the near future.

"That's coming up…sometime in late November," Singleton said.

Singleton who plays wide receiver, defensive back and return kicks and punts for his high school team, has more than 700 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns this season. His team just beat the No. 1 team in the conference and is now positioned to win the league this year.
