The big weekend visit provided Tim a chance to take his first up close look at the Cardinal program. It was a trip that Smith says showed him everything he needed to see including an exciting game atmosphere.
"It was a great game even though I thought it was going to be an upset at first when they got down 14-0. But they came back and everything, so that was good. They have nice facilities there, everything was nice," said Smith.
Darius Ashley served as host for the 6-1 185 pound speedster. He seemed to really take a lot out of his visit to campus, but says that he didn't know what to expect when he got there.
"I really didn't set any expectations for when I got there. So when I got there everything was good. I got to see everything on the interior in the living facilities, and the dorms really stood out. They were really nice and the coaching staff was great," said Smith.
Smith who was making his third official visit of the season has now taken visits to each of his top three schools. With two Big East powers and an ACC squad in the mix things look to get very interesting from here.
"This was my third visit. I had previously visited West Virginia and Virginia," said Smith. "Each of the visits had things that I liked about them. It wasn't like one had something that another one didn't, but they were all good in different ways. And that is what is going to make this decision that much harder."
Louisville, West Virginia, and Virginia are well out in front of Smith's recruitment to this point and Tim shared his thoughts on Louisville's competition.
West Virginia – "Coach Beatty is a great guy and I have known him for a while. They have some guys on the team I am familiar with and played with coming up. And their food court is great as well."
Virginia – "I like the distance. I like the fact that my family could come to every home game. I won't be so far from home that whenever they need me I can come back there. And I have a friend up there, Perry Jones, that committed to them and we are really close. He is like my best friend so that would be cool too."
A fourth visit could be in the works, but to this point nothing has been set in stone. And that could mean a decision could be here sooner than later.
"I am not sure right now. I might take one more visit up to Boston College, but I am not sure yet," said Smith. "I plan on making a decision soon. If I don't take the trip up to Boston College then I will probably make my decision in a week or so. But if I do make the trip then I will decide right after I get back."
Tim says that to this point he is still undecided on a leader and all three teams are equal but that could change any day now.
