Williams on Louisville's radar

Eric Williams, a talented running back from Indianapolis, is on Louisville's recruiting radar. The 6-foot-0, 205-pound Williams made an unofficial visit to UofL over the weekend and is hoping for an offer from the Cardinals.

Eric Williams, who plays on the same Warren Central team as Louisville recruit Ed Hazelett, liked what he saw from the Cardinals during a 24-20 win Saturday over USF at PJCS.

"It was great. I loved everything. The atmosphere was wonderful," Williams said. "Louisville is just starting to show interest in me and they're starting to show more (interest). I love Louisville right now. I'm going to be down there for another visit soon – hopefully for an official visit. I like how they run the ball and their offense. And I love the coaches and have a good relationship with them. Hopefully, I'll be a Cardinal soon."

Williams currently has offers from Western Kentucky, Ball State and Eastern Michigan and is hearing from Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, Indiana and Vanderbilt. "(Louisville) says they're waiting for the head coach to offer me," Williams said. "I talked to the defensive back coach, the running back coach, Coach Brohm and the head coach on my (visit). I gave them film and a highlight tape and they said they wanted to watch me more before they offer."

Louisville is recruiting the 6-foot-0, 205-pound Williams as a running back and cornerback. Williams has rushed for more than 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. "I have a lot of breakaways but I'm also a power runner," Williams said. "I like a lot of contact."
