Martin thinking about early decision

Justin Martin, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Indianapolis (IN) Lawrence North, has made recent visits to Louisville and Xavier. Monday, Scout.com's #36 ranked 2010 prospect is expected to decide between the Cardinals and Musketeers. Will a weekend visit to Louisville give the Cardinals a decisive edge?

According to Scout.com recruiting analyst Evan Daniels, Justin Martin's decision is a toss-up.

"It's too close to call," Daniels said. "It could go either way."

Martin's weekend visit to Louisville could be telling. The talented forward attended the Cardinals exhibition game Saturday in Freedom Hall against Georgetown College and was said to have stayed in town until Sunday.

Martin also visited Louisville last week with his high school teammates to watch Rick Pitino's team practice at the YUM! Center. Martin also teams with 2009 Louisville commit Stephen Van Treese, who will sign a national letter of intent with the Cardinals this month. Martin also made an unofficial visit to UofL in late August.

"He's been on Louisville's campus several times and he's definitely familiar with the Cardinals," Daniels said.

The Cardinals already have verbal commitments from 2010 stars Jeremy Tyler and Josh Langford. Tyler, a 6'10 center, is considered a Top 10 prospect and sure-fire NBA prospect, while Langford is ranked in the Top 50-100 by most recruiting publications. Martin would certainly be a big boost to an already solid recruiting class.

Xavier also has done an outstanding job recruiting Martin. Xavier coach Sean Miller had Martin on campus for an unofficial visit last weekend and has positioned his program well in the talented forward's recruitment. The Musketeers landed Top 50-caliber forward Jordan Latham this weekend and are looking to add Martin to the mix.

Will it be Louisville or Xavier for Justin Martin? We should have an answer to that question within the next 24 hours.
