Louisville in JUCO DB's top four

Butler County (KS) DB Rudell Crim believes familiarity will be an important factor in his recruitment and Louisville has a couple of big ties to the talented JUCO defensive back. What are Crim's thoughts about the Cardinals?

Tallahassee Rickards (FL) has been very good to Louisville in the past. This time the Cardinals are hoping to land Butler County (KS) DB Rudell Crim, a former standout at Rickards.

"I know a couple of guys that went there Kolby Smith and William Gay. Both of them went to my high school and they graduated the year before I was a freshman there," said Crim. "They used to tell me about it being a good place to go. And that it was also a good academic place too. So that was something that really caught my attention. It is a place where I can go play, and also graduate."

Crim will give strong consideration
to the Cardinals.

This is not the first time Crim has been recruited by Louisville. He was getting major interest out of high school from several high level programs including offers from Florida, Alabama, Louisville, Michigan State, Indiana, and several others.

"I was first being recruited to Louisville when Petrino was there when I was a senior in high school. But then I ended up at my junior college due to my academic situation," Crim said. "Coming out of high school that was a pretty good program and I could really see myself playing there. And that it was also a good academic place too. So that was something that really caught my attention. It is a place where I can go play, and also graduate."

The 6-0 190 pound defensive back says he has four schools that standout right now and he is considering trips to each of them.

"The top four schools right now are Louisville, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Oregon. I have not been on any visits yet, but I am going to make some after my season is over," said Crim.

Rudell will have two years of eligibility remaining once he makes his choice. Whether or not he will enroll in January to participate in spring ball, or wait until the summer is still up in the air. He shared his thoughts on his current favorites.

Arkansas – "I got a chance to visit there when I was in high school. My best friend Michael Smith is there now he plays running back for them. They have a lot of things going on right now and I feel that I could come in and step right in there. I could help them finish off their defense."

Ole Miss – "I don't really know that much about them right now. But I think that is a place where I can go in and help out right away."

Oregon – "They are recruiting me as a safety. And that is the position that I played in high school. So that is something I like and the other schools are recruiting me as a cornerback."

Crim says that a chance to get on the field quickly will definitely be one of the major factors that he will look at when making his visits and ultimately his decision.

"I want to go somewhere and make an impact anywhere on the field whether it is at cornerback or at safety. Chemistry is everything so I want to go check out the team chemistry and make sure it is someplace I am comfortable. Also the depth chart situation will be a big deal as well," mentioned Crim. "I only have 2 years left so I don't mind fighting for my spot, but I do want to have a good chance to play early. And academics are also a very big thing for me because I do want to graduate."

While holding offers from each of his favorites Crim is not ruling out any other schools from getting involved in his recruitment. Also distance looks as if it will not be much of a factor either.

"I did want to get back close to home at first, but with so many games on TV my parents will get to see all my games anyway. So distance from home is not a big deal," said Crim.
