Anthony down to five

A big-time prospect from Marietta (GA) Kell, talented 6-foot-5 wide receiver Marlon Anthony, has narrowed his list down to five finalists. Is Louisville still in contention for the young playmaker's services?

Louisville desperately wants to add some size and talent to its receiving corps. Standing 6-5, 185-pounds, Marlon Anthony could be exactly what the Cardinals are looking for.

"My biggest strength right now is converting first downs," said Anthony . "I want to work on my speed and my footwork right now."

With his senior season behind him, Anthony has narrowed his recruitment's focus. Five schools remain in the running for his signature on National Signing Day.

"The schools I am looking at are Arkansas, Mississippi State, Indiana, Georgia, and Louisville. All the teams but Georgia have offered me a scholarship," said Anthony.

Anthony is familiar with the Louisville program. He understands the Cardinals reputation as a passing team with a good stable of quarterbacks. That reputation intrigues Anthony and he has definitely watched Louisville, who has struggled to a 5-5 record this fall, closely this season.

"I am not sure about Louisville right now," Anthony said. "I had previously visited Louisville during basketball season. But I have been watching them this year and they have been...interesting."

Anthony has not taken any official visits yet, but says that three visits that are in the works for sure.

"I will definitely take visits to Indiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi State. Those are the only ones I know I am taking for sure," said Anthony.

What is Anthony looking for in a college? "The campus atmosphere doesn't really mean that much to me. It is going to come down to what the football team is like and the coaching staff," said Anthony.

Anthony plans to set up his official visits in the near future and will make a decision after visiting the schools on his list.
