Louisville could be a perfect fit for Latu, a 6-2, 290-pound defensive tackle. The Cardinals lose three starters on the defensive line due to graduation, including both starting defensive tackles.
"(Louisville) looks pretty good," Latu said. "They're losing three seniors next year at my position. They've only got one person ahead of me at the position I play. So I'd have a good chance of starting as a 3-tech. (defensive tackle)."
Besides Louisville, Latu said North Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana-Lafayette are also showing interest. North Texas had also offered Latu.
"I'm set to graduate next spring," said Latu. "I'm not in a hurry to make a decision. As of right now I'm focused mostly on Louisville. I've got Louisville on top. I'd pretty much call them my leader."
Education will be a major factor in Latu's decision and Louisville made a strong academic impression during the Utah native's visit.
"To me what's really important is education – what school is going to have the best education for me," Latu said. "I think I fit Louisville's program pretty well. I'm trying to go into construction management and they're in the Top 10 for Business. It's mostly about education. Who offers the best education? Academics is one of the biggest parts of Louisville's football program."
