"It was nice having him at Louisville but they're still going to run the same scheme and everything," Forte said. "He'll be missed but he wouldn't be my reason for going to Louisville."
Shortly after English's departure to Eastern Michigan, Louisville assistant Tony Alford contacted Forte and let him know he's still a wanted prospect for the Cardinals.
"Coach Alford let me know that everything was the same and they still like me as much as they did when Coach English was there," said Forte. "He said the schemes will be the same and the linebackers coach (Bill Miller) would be the defensive coordinator."
Three-star UofL commit Mike Privott is working hard to convince Scout.com's No. 56 defensive end prospect to join him at Louisville next season. Privott and Forte both visited Louisville together in October and developed a friendship on that trip.
"Mike Privott and his uncle – I talk to those guys a lot about considering (Louisville)," said Forte. "His uncle likes to be updated on everything that goes on with the school and recruiting."
Forte said no favorite has emerged in his recruitment. Forte said he would probably make a decision within a couple weeks following his visit to USF Jan. 9. "The most important factor is how comfortable I am with the school," he said.
