Privott reacts to Miller's resignation

After Ron English left Louisville to become the head coach at Eastern Michigan, Bill Miller helped keep three-star linebacker Mike Privott in the fold for the Cardinals. Is Privott still solid with Louisville now that Miller has resigned to accept a position at Kansas?

"It was a shock to me," Privott told Sunday afternoon. "I felt real comfortable with him (Coach Miller) calling shots after (Coach English) left but now with him gone – I'm still committed – but I don't know what the future is for the program."

Mike Privott said he learned about Miller's departure Saturday while surfing the Internet.

"I was on the (Internet) and it popped up and I thought I read it wrong," said Privott. "When I looked at it and it said he resigned I was like ‘oh man.'

"So I called my brother and told him what happened and called my head coach in high school and he told me to wait until the dust clears and see who they bring in as defensive coordinator."

Privott said he hasn't talked with UofL head coach Steve Kragthorpe about Miller's decision. He did speak with new Louisville defensive assistant Brent Guy on Saturday about the situation.

"He explained things and he said he's going to come see me at the school after the dead period," Privott said. "I don't know. I'm just waiting to see who is going to be the new defensive coordinator now. He told me to just wait to see how things clear. Coach Kragthorpe brought in Larry Slade so I'm pretty sure he's going to bring in somebody that's going to do a good job."

With just a few weeks before National Signing Day, Privott doesn't appear to have the stomach to re-open his recruitment and take other visits this late in the recruiting process.

"I would but I think it's a little too late to re-open things back up because signing day is like four weeks away," Privott said. "I don't think I'm going to take any more visits. I guess I'll stay and see what happens from here."
