John L. Smith headed to MSU

After five seasons as the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals, John L. Smith now heads north to tackle the Michigan State job in the Big Ten Conference.

John L. Smith will be introduced at a 6:30 PM press conference today as Michigan State's new head football coach. University of Louisville Athletic Director Tom Jurich said the situation was handled inappropriately at a 3:00 PM press conference on the UofL campus confirming that Smith had taken the Michigan State position.
