Rising OL Stout visits Louisville

Hunter Stout, a 6'4, 270-pound two-star offensive lineman from Tampa (FL) Wharton, visited Louisville this weekend. An under-the-radar recruit with only Sun Belt-level interest until recently, Stout's recruitment has started to heat up with National Signing Day just weeks away.

"I think a lot of it was a (lack) of exposure," said Hunter Stout's father. "I attribute a lot of his success (on recruiting) to SunShinePreps.com." Stout's father said that the website recently posted a highlight video of his son and that has resulted in increased recruiting attention from schools like Louisville, Colorado and Auburn.

This weekend, Stout made and official visit to Louisville. Stout's father said Hunter is very high on Louisville and is currently on his way home from his official visit this weekend. The No. 103 OG in the nation, Stout will visit Auburn next weekend but doesn't currently have an offer from the Tigers. As of right now, that will be Stout's final visit, according to his father.

"In general I think Louisville is an outstanding school," said Stout's dad. "I've had a chance to meet with Coach (Brent) Myers for a couple of hours when he came to visit with Hunter and I was very impressed with him. He seemed like he would be a great teacher of the game. As an offensive line coach myself I felt he was very impressive."

Besides Louisville, Stout has already made official visits to Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic. When asked if a favorite has emerged, Stout said his son isn't ready to name a leader.

"They all offer some fantastic options and they're all attractive for various reasons," Stout said. "He's just taking an open-minded approach to each school he's visited and when he takes his last trip we're going to sit down and go through the pros and cons of each school and where he thinks is a great fit."
