Louisville lands JUCO OL

Joe Evinger, a 6-7, 340-pound offensive lineman from College of Canyons (CA) C.C., made an official visit to Louisville over the weekend - and made a big decision about his future during his visit.

"I committed to Louisville," Evinger told InsideTheVille.com. "I'm from Indiana and I wanted to get a little closer to home. I went on my visit, liked the facilities and committed. There was talk about me playing right guard. The junior college level prepared me a lot for the tempo of the game."

Mark Wetterer and Greg Tomcyzk, offensive linemen for the Cardinals, showed Evinger around during his visit.

"The guys were great," Evinger said. "Everybody was really nice and friendly. We didn't do too much - we saw downtown Louisville. But the game was great."

Evinger said he didn't think he would take a planned visit to Kentucky next weekend. Evinger, who roomed with Hunter Stout on his visit, will graduate from junior college in May and plans to enroll at Louisville early this summer.

He'll have three years to play two for the Cardinals.
