UPDATE: UofL hoops recruits

InsideTheVille.com has updates on Louisville signees Rakeem Buckles, Peyton Siva and Stephen Van Treese, plus the Cardinals 2010 and 2011 commits.

Peyton Siva had 22 points, 5 steals and four assists in his team's tuneup, a 71-44 win over Cleveland, for Monday's showdown against Tony Wroten and Garfield at the King Holiday HoopFest. Both teams are ranked No. 1 in their respective state classifications. Siva had 25 points in Franklin's victory over O'Dea last week.

Rakeem Buckles led his team to a 54-50 win over Buchholz Friday night, scoring his team's final seven points.

Mike Marra scored a game-high 21 points, including two alley-oop dunks, in a 92-68 win over Vanier College. Marra had 15 points and five rebounds in an 82-59 win over Deerfield Academy, making 2 of 7 three-pointers. Marra scored 13 points on 3-8 three-point shooting in an 86-76 loss to Worcester Academy. He also posted 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Stephen Van Treese finished with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in a 53-39 win over No. 7-ranked Franklin Central Wednesday in the Marion County Tournament. Van Treese scored 17 points in a 74-67 loss to No. 3 ranked North Central in the Marion County Tournament semifinals.

Jeremy Tyler scored 22 points, including seven dunks, before fouling out in a 56-39 loss to Northland (OH) H.S. at the Flyin' to the Hoop in Dayton, OH. The game featured a marquee matchup between Tyler and Jared Sullinger, two of the nation's top prospects in the Class of 2010. Sullinger scored 23 points.

Justin Martin finished 4-for-9 from the field for 13 points against Franklin Central. Martin nailed a pair of three-pointers in the game. Martin had a team-high 22 points, making five three's, in a loss to North Central in the semifinal at the Marion County Tournament.

Ryan Taylor scored seven points against Franklin Central. Taylor had eight points against North Central.

Michael Chandler had two points and one rebound in 37 seconds of play against Franklin Central. Scout.com's Evan Daniels said, "Keep an eye on Chandler, because it's quite possible that he's the best long-term prospect on Lawrence North's team."
