UPDATE: UofL hoops recruits

2009 Louisville signees Peyton Siva and Stephan Van Treese led their high school teams to big wins on the court, while Rakeem Buckles and Mike Marra turned in spectacular individual efforts last week.

Peyton Siva had a game-high 18 points, plus three rebounds and two steals to lead Franklin to a 57-47 win over LSU signee Aaron Dotson and Rainier Beach last Friday. Siva scored 21 points in a 65-57 win over Eastside Catholic last week. Siva and Franklin lost their first game of the season Tuesday, a 62-60 loss to Bainbridge - Siva had 12 points in the defeat.

Rakeem Buckles scored 16 of his game-high 27 points in the second half in an 80-66 loss to Norcross, the No. 1 ranked team in Georgia's Class 4A. Buckles had 30 points the day before against Dunwoody (GA) in the Marriott Invitational. Buckles made three 3's and had several dunks in the win.

Mike Marra scored 30 points, hitting 5 of 8 three-pointers, in a 100-53 win over Upenn JV. Marra also had five rebounds and five assists in the victory. Marra had 25 points, draining 3 of 6 three-pointers, in a 113-53 win over St. Joe's JV . In the two game event in Philly, Marra connected on 20 of 28 shots, including 8 of 14 three's.

Stephan Van Treese had a big game with 16 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in a 66-47 win over North Central. Van Treese, who made 8 of 14 shots, drew high praise from coach Jack Kiefer, who called his performance "up there with the five best individual performances we've ever had." Van Treese is considered one of six primary candidates for Indiana Mr. Basketball honors and averages 13.2 points.

Justin Martin scored 15 points in the victory over North Central.

Jeremy Tyler had 27 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in an 86-47 loss to nationally-ranked Fairfax and No. 5-rated Renardo Sidney on ESPN2 last Friday.

Josh Langford helped lead Johnson to a win over Butler.

2011
Ryan Taylor had 10 points against North Central.

Michael Chandler played briefly but didn't score against North Central.
