Louisville offers Jones first

Delaware native C.J. Jones is an excellent athlete that could project at many positions and this week he picked up his first offer from Louisville. Scout.com spoke with Jones about his offer from the Cardinals.

Alexis I. Dupont High School in Wilmington, Del., has never been known for its football program. In fact, the school was considered an easy win for many years in the state of Delaware.

Now players like C.J. Jones are turning the program around into a solid competitor and while those players put the school on the map, they help themselves toward a higher education as well.

"I talked to Coach Larry Slade from Louisville and he told me that my written offer was on the way," Jones explained. "He's a very positive guy and he told me that he was very impressed with my athleticism. He said that me coming there would really help the program a lot."

Louisville will hold two junior day events next month and Jones might travel from Delaware to attend.

"If I can't get down to junior day I'm definitely going to go during the summer for some sort of visit," Jones added. "I like the history of their program, but I really need to research them a bit more. They have told me that their first priority there is academics, so I want to learn more about that."
