"He led the team with nine interceptions this year and made about 60 tackles ," said Greensboro coach Steven Davis. "On top of being a great athlete and a hell of a football player he's also an honor student in the classroom. He's got offers coming in everyday now. Everybody who comes through offers. I think he's going to end up being a national recruit."
Notre Dame coach Charlie Weiss told Amerson he'd be a quick fit in South Bend.
"Coach Weiss told him personally on the phone that he thinks he can come in right away and play at Notre Dame," Davis said. "What he sees in Dave is he covers the deep ball about as well as a high school guy covers but he'll also come up and hit you."
Louisville joined the fray this week, offering Amerson a scholarship through one of Greensboro's assistant coaches.
"The coach called and told one of my assistants so I haven't really talked to Louisville about the offer yet," Davis said.
This spring, Amerson has been investigating a few of his college options. He's made visits to Clemson, NC State and Maryland for junior day but still isn't ready to narrow his list or name favorites.
"This is all new to Dave," Davis said. "All these offers kind of hit him in the face and he's trying to soak it all in right now."
Davis said Amerson's camp schedule this summer would be light.
"We're going to pick out maybe two and hit those," coach said. "We might do a Nike camp or something and then just one other."
