New interest for Lewis

Bishop Kearney High School product Jerome Lewis holds four scholarships and is hoping for more. He's getting mail from plenty of schools just like the rest of the nations' prospects, but right now two schools are standing out in terms of the intensity of their interest.

Jerome Lewis, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound athlete out of Rochester, N.Y., could end up at tight end or defensive end at the collegiate level and schools are showing him interest at both positions right now. He talked to Scout.com this week about two schools that have stepped up their game recently.

"Louisville and Colorado have jumped into the game and are both very interested right now," Lewis said. "Louisville said they could definitely see themselves offering me because they like how explosive I am and that I could play either tight end or defensive end for them."

"I talked to a coach from Colorado a little bit too," Lewis mentioned. "I'm going to talk to the other coaches this week sometime to find out what is going on with them."

As a junior, Lewis caught 10 passes for 348 yards and a touchdown. He also recorded 56 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one blocked punt on the defensive side of the ball while playing weak side linebacker and defensive end.

"Louisville is a great program that have produced great offensive players like Brian Brohm and Michael Bush and I like the way their defense is run. I'd like to make it down there for a visit if they do invite me. It's definitely a school that I do like."
