Days, an athletic 6-foot-6 small forward, will team with Louisville recruit Fabricio De Melo next season at Weston (FL) Sagemont. Days and De Melo both made unofficial recruiting trips to Louisville in March to watch the Cardinals game against Marquette. Ross thinks Days would be a perfect fit in Louisville's up-tempo system.
"The way that Louisville plays fits Rod to a "T" because he's a long, athletic guy that can really put pressure on the ball, which we all know Coach Pitino likes to do," Ross said.
"He's only a tenth-grader and I think it's still early," Ross said. "He's going to for sure go through the summer here and kind of re-evaluate things in the fall."
Pitino has made a contingent scholarship offer to Days. "He's offered a scholarship knowing it's probably going to be a year or so before Rod makes a decision," Ross said. "So he'll continue to evaluate him."
Richard Peters, Days' talented 6-9 teammate, also made a visit to Louisville but it appears the Cardinals have decided to turn their attention toward other 2011 frontcourt targets. "I would say they're not in the picture any more with Richard," Ross said.
