Louisville recently expressed their interest in the 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard from Chicago (IL) Morgan Park. Blackshear said he's intrigued with the Cardinals. "They get up and down," Blackshear said of Louisville. "I like their style of play."
Blackshear, a five-star prospect ranked the No. 2 SG prospect in the Class of 2011, is a talented prospect. He goes strong to hole and finishes and is also an excellent three-point shooter with deep range.
"Right now I'm trying to work on everything and get stronger," said Blackshear. "I'm working on my shooting and ball-handling. I'm trying to get better and take my (game) to the next level."
Mike Shaw, a 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward from Chicago (IL) De La Salle, is also hearing from the Cardinals. Shaw, also a five-star prospect who is rated the No. 2 PF in the Class of 2011, teams with Blackshear on the AAU circuit for the Mac Irvin Fire.
Shaw is a skilled power forward with strong face-up skills. He has range out to the three-point line and made several three's in Fort Wayne, IN. last weekend at the Spiece Run N Slam. He can also put the ball on the deck and grab rebounds in his area.
"I'm looking to improve my all-around game but mostly I'm looking to improve my dribbling. I've got to get better at that," Shaw said. "Once I do that I think I'll be really good."
