Football Hot Board (New Offers - Part Two)

Steve Kragthorpe and staff have been busy tending to recruiting duties this spring. The Cardinals have extended a bunch of scholarship offers in recent weeks and breaks down some of the latest in Part Two of the Football Recruiting Hot Board.

WR Kai Dominquez, 6-1, 180, Montvale (NJ) St. Joe's
Bio: One of the top wide receivers in New Jersey, Dominquez earned second team All-State honors as a junior. Dominquez boasts 4.5 speed and a 35-inch vertical.
Offers: Louisville.

WR Shakim Phillips, 6-2, 198, Wayne (NJ) De Paul
Bio: A four-star prospect and the nation's fifth-ranked wide receiver, Phillips has no shortage of options, including an offer from Louisville. Phillips caught 40 passes for 12 TD's as a junior.
Offers: Maryland, UConn, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Louisville, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Arizona, Wisconsin and Syracuse.
Phillips says: "I'm still taking everything in. I'm definitely interested in seeing other parts of the country. I plan to narrow it down this summer but I'll be taking all five visits before committing (to a school)."
SS Chris Hughes, 6-1, 214, Mobile (AL) Davidson
Bio: Hughes, a hard-hitting safety prospect, recorded 118 tackles and three interceptions as a junior. If his academics are in order, Hughes will have tons of BCS programs in hot pursuit. Hughes was clocked at 4.37 at the Nike camp in Mobile in January.
Offers: Louisville.
Other schools interested: South Carolina and Florida.
Hughes' high school coach says: "(Schools)have not offered him, except Louisville, because they are holding off to see what his next set of (ACT) scores is like. Louisville has gone ahead and said 'we want this guy and we'll be the first school to offer him. Maybe he'll remember that in the long run."
DT Pat McNeil, 6-2, 275, Mobile (AL) Davidson
Bio: McNeil, one of the top defensive linemen in the south, recorded 76 tackles, six for loss and one sack as a junior. McNeil's brother is a starting safety for Auburn.
Offers: Louisville.
Other schools interested: Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida and Southern Mississippi.
McNeil says: "I look at all the schools the same. I need to learn more about each one of the schools before I can name favorites."
RB Tyrrell Willis, 6-2, 245, Murray (KY) Calloway County
Bio: Willis is a big, versatile back who possesses power and speed. An All-State selection in 2008, Willis rushed for 1,703 yards and 19 touchdowns and had 711 yards receiving and 10 scores.
Offers: Louisville and Memphis.
Other schools interested: Kentucky, Purdue, Alabama and Tennessee.
WR Frank Tamakole, 6-3, 189, Olney (MD) Good Council
Bio: One of the top prospects in Maryland this year, Tomakole currently holds seven scholarships from BCS programs. Louisville has also offered two other players from Good Council - LB Troy Gloster and S E.J. Scott. Runs the forty in 4.4-seconds.
Offers: Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Wisconsin, NC State and Northwestern.
Tomakloe says: "They have been a top program for a while now. They are part of the Big East. They have really good academics. The facilities and Papa John's Stadium are great. I also really like Coach Slade. He has a lot of experience and would be my position coach. He is a great guy."
LB Henry Coley, 6-1, 225, Virginia Beach (VA) Bayside
Bio: Coley, who projects as a middle linebacker, recorded 93 tackles and nine sacks as a junior. Coley ran a 4.8 forty at a combine this spring.
Offers: Louisville and Navy.
Other schools interested: Maryland, Oregon, Virginia and Duke.
Coley says: "Louisville called today and verbally offered. They just told me they liked what they saw on my film and to keep an eye on my mailbox, the written offer should be in my hands soon."
OL Christian Littlehead, 6-4, 305, Tahlequah (OK) Sequoyah
Bio: A physical and strong offensive lineman, Littlehead benches 335-pounds and squats 485-pound. Littlehead currently has six offers from BCS programs.
Offers: Louisville, Baylor, Ole Miss, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado State and Nebraska.
Littlehead says: "Some are interested in me playing defense. Some want me on offense, and there are a couple of schools that say either one. I like playing on both sides or either side, as long as I am playing and helping the team. Right now I kind of like all of them. I'm pretty open. I do think before schools starts I will at least narrow my list of schools."
