UofL comes back against Middle Tennessee

No. 1 Louisville came from behind against No. 2 Middle Tennessee for an exciting 3-2 win Saturday night in the NCAA regional. The Cardinals are now one win away from advancing to the Super Regional.

Jeff Arnold scored the go-ahead run on an errant pickoff throw by the catcher in the top of the ninth inning as top-seeded Louisville rallied to beat No. 2 seed Middle Tennessee 3-2 in an NCAA regional game Saturday night.

With Muhammad Ali watching in the stands, the Cardinals (46-15) scored single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings to overcome a 2-0 deficit.

Arnold scored from third base after Middle Tennessee catcher Drew Robertson threw away the ball while trying to pick him off. Derek Self (7-0) pitched three perfect innings in relief of starter Dean Kiekhefer.

Coty Woods (4-3), the Sun Belt Conference's save leader, took the loss in relief of Bryce Brentz for the Blue Raiders (44-17).
