Josh Smith says he's tired of being recruited and says a decision could come before July. However, he's still not ready to publicly cut his list down just yet...
, 6-10 JR C Kent (Wash.) Kentwood, is one of the elite post prospects in the country and he's been a target for top programs across the country for a couple years now.
While sources close to the recruitment believe it's primarily a UCLA/Washington battle for Smith, with Texas also apparently being in the mix, Smith maintains that he's still wide open.
"I'm getting the most interest from UCLA, Washington, Louisville, Texas, Duke, North Carolina and UConn," said Smith.
"No, there is no leader," said Smith. "I'm hoping to get it down to a top five soon. Honestly, I'm tired of the recruiting process, the phone calls – all of it."
I asked Smith about the chances of him making his decision prior to the July evaluation period.
"It's probably 50/50," said Smith.
Smith said he'll be helped with his decision by a relatively small circle of people.
"My parents and older brother mainly," said Smith. "My AAU and high school coaches a bit, but they don't really care where I go."
Smith doesn't currently have any visits planned.
"I'll sit down with my family to see about any official visits," said Smith.
I asked Smith about his plans for the next couple months.
"I'm getting my tonsils removed on June 22nd, so I'll miss the Amare Stoudemire Camp and NBA Top 100 Camp," said Smith. "I might be back for the Peach Jam and then I'll play in Las Vegas."
