Media Day Blitz: Cards meet the press

The Louisville football team held their annual Media Day Saturday morning at the football complex. Lots of photos were snapped and several interviews conducted. InsideTheVille.com provides complete coverage, including audio interviews with head coach Steve Kragthorpe and several key performers.

Louisville head coach Steve Kragthorpe
SOUNDBITE: "We've had a good start to camp. I like our team. I like the way they're working. We've got a lot of things to get done before September 5th. But I like their attitude and the way they worked during the summer. We've just got to keep progressing as a team."

louisville defensive coordinator Brent Guy
SOUNDBITE: "We always say we have to stop the run by being gap sound. We want to be in position to stop whoever is running the ball. We have to find ways to create lost yardage plays. And then we have to eliminate the big plays and force turnovers to give our offense scoring opportunities."

So. RB Victor Anderson
SOUNDBITE: "The single biggest challenge for me is to do my 1/11 and help my team win games. You got to go out and practice hard, come in this weight room and work out hard, get in the film room and know your assignments. It's just the small things that make people great."

Jr. QB Justin Burke
SOUNDBITE: "It's going to take a guy that can make the right decisions and lead the team and show that he'll be there on every snap. It's about consistency..showing up for every practice and every play the do it the right way. I think that's the biggest aspect of who's going to win it."

Sr. WR Scott Long
SOUNDBITE: "Our goals are to win the conference and make it to a BCS bowl. My knee feels good. I practiced the first two days and went half a day yesterday. We're just going to take it day by day and see how it responds."

So. LB Dexter Heyman
SOUNDBITE: "I really feel like I learned the speed of the game last season and how much more physical and nasty you have to be. When you're going against a 250-pound fullback you better bring your whole self."

Jr. QB Adam Froman
SOUNDBITE: "I'm very close to having excellent knowledge of the (offense). I know all the plays. Now it just getting the finer details down. I was comfortable last night and saw the field well. For us to win the Big East we've got to have the best guy back there at quarterback and that's the process we're going through right now to find that guy."

So. WR Doug Beaumont
SOUNDBITE: "I hope I can catch a touchdown against Indiana State in the opener. In the off-season I worked in the slot. I knew that Scott Long and Trent Guy would be back and would work more on the outside. So being in the slot will get me open because I'll be going against linebackers."

Sr. WR Trent Guy
SOUNDBITE: "I'm going to try to make plays to the best of my ability whether that be on screens, passes or reverses. Last year I wasn't 100 percent. This year I am 100 percent and I'm looking to make plays and be an explosive weapon for this offense."

Sr. DT L.T. Walker
SOUNDBITE: "All summer long we've been working on the pass rush. We want to get back there and be in the quarterbacks face. That's our favorite thing - we want to see the quarterback run from us. Last year we struggled with that but I felt that helped us out for this year."
