Sharpe still favoring Louisville

Chris Sharpe recently re-opened his recruitment after making a visit to Louisville. Sharpe says he's leaning hard toward joining the Cardinals but another team has recently jumped into the mix for his services. Is the talented Stone Mountain, Georgia defensive back nearing a commitment?

Chris Sharpe recently made an unofficial visit to Louisville. Now, he's planning to take an official visit to Louisville next month.

"I'm going to be setting up an official visit soon for Louisville," Sharpe said. "I'll probably take it sometime at the beginning season."

Since visiting Louisville, Sharpe, a former ECU commit, has re-opened his recruitment. He's tried to keep contact with the Cardinals since his visit but it's been a challenge because Louisville has started preseason camp.

"I tried to call both of my coach last week but they didn't pick up because they're pretty busy. But I've contacted them through email. I talk to Coach (Ken) Delgado the most and I talk with Coach (Larry) Slade every now and then."

Though he was once committed to ECU, the Pirates no longer appear in the mix. "I haven't talked to them in a while," Sharpe said. "Right now I'm leaning pretty hard toward Louisville."

Besides Louisville, Tulane has also jumped into the mix recently. Sharpe says the Green Wave haven't offered but are trying to get him on campus for a visit before he makes his decision.

"I'm waiting on that offer," Sharpe said. "I'm supposed to be setting up an official visit with them too. The defensive coordinator said they're really excited about me coming down there and playing for them my freshman year."

Sharpe said one of the big appeals about Tulane is that a few of his former teammates currently play for the Green Wave.
