"We're going to (visit) Louisville in September or October and probably Indiana also," Nunez' mentor Eric Martinez said. "We don't have a date on them yet but sometime in late September or early October. We're going to try to spread those visits out."
Nunez often draws comparisons to former Louisville star Francisco Garcia because of his diverse skill set and ability to create off the dribble. Nunez is being recruited by Louisville assistant Steve Masiello and the Cardinals plan to check out the 6'7 forward next month at Winchendon (Mass.) Prep.
"I spoke with Masiello about two days ago to just check up to see what's going on," Martinez said. "They're going to go up to his school to see him in September on the 9th. So they're going to come see him workout."
Louisville won't be the only school travelling to Massachusetts this fall to check up on Nunez, who didn't play on the AAU or summer camp circuit this summer to concentrate on academics. "Indiana, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, St. John's, Rutgers, Arizona, Wake Forest, UConn are all coming up to see him," Martinez said. "St. John's and Indiana recently offered."
With a recent offer from Indiana, Nunez wants to see what the Hoosiers have to offer.
"He likes the situation at Indiana so we like Indiana a lot," Martinez said. "He likes Rashown McLeod, the assistant coach at Indiana. He's been speaking with Angel and myself. And they're recruiting Kyrie Irving and Angel likes the way he plays so that's the reason why Indiana is in the mix."
"Arizona is still strong, Louisville is too," Martinez said. "But it's still early in the (recruiting) process."
