"I am the type of player that is going to come in and do my thing. I am the type of guy who can hold my own," said Tillman. "I am a very balanced player though I had 11 ½ sacks last year I think my pass rushing skills have gotten better this off season. That is something I have really been working on and I am very good at stopping the run as well."
With his combination of size and athleticism Tillman is garnering a lot of interest.
"I have been getting a lot of interest from Memphis and Southern Miss is sending me letters every day. I get a lot of letters from schools and Ole Miss is showing me a lot of interest also. I have offers from Memphis, Ole Miss, and UAB," said Tillman. "Louisville is telling me that they want to see some of my defensive tapes from the beginning of the season before they make an offer."
To this point in his recruitment Josh has not made it on the campus of any of his prospective suitors though he did say the he is targeting Memphis, Louisville, and Ole Miss for visits this fall.
"I want to enroll early during the spring. I am planning to make visits to all the schools I am looking at during the season. I want to make visits to all of those schools. I am going to make a decision after my season is over with," said Tillman.
Tillman says that he is in constant contact with Louisville, though he is still looking to learn more about the Big East program.
"I don't know much about Louisville so far. They have a good coach and I know they play in a good conference. That would be a nice conference to play in. And I think I could come in and help them out up front also," said Tillman.
Early playing time is going to be a big part of his decision making process and Tillman say he will make things happen at his new school.
"First of all I want to go to a place headed for good things. I want to play for a good team. I also want to go to place where I can play early. A place where I can go and perform and really make an impact," said Tillman.
