Shaw: Louisville a 'good fit'

Wayne Blackshear and Chicago power forward Mike Shaw are a package deal. Louisville is in the lead for the 6'4 Blackshear. Where do the Cardinals stand with the 6'8 Shaw, Scout.com's No. 40 prospect in the Class of 2011?

Mike Shaw, a talented 2011 power forward from Chicago, plans to attend college with AAU teammate Wayne Blackshear. Blackshear favors the Cardinals. What about the 6'8 Shaw?

"Louisville is one of my top schools," Shaw said. "But I am going to take some more visits. I'm going up to Michigan State next week and I'll go on the same visits as Wayne."

Mike Shaw is strongly considering UofL.
Shaw visited Louisville over the weekend with Blackshear and 2011 shooting guard Macari Brooks. It was his second trip to Louisville this summer and he had an opportunity to sit down and chat with Rick Pitino.

"Coach Pitino is a great coach," Shaw said. "I like their facilities and style of play. It's a good fit for me. He's a great person and he knows a lot of stuff not just basketball. He's a good person to know."

Shaw also got a chance to test his skills against Louisville's players at the YUM Center before heading over to PJCS to watch UofL's football win over Indiana State.

"It was fun," Shaw said. "I like the (Louisville) a lot. It was a lot more excitement because everybody was there with the football game. It was cool and it was a good experience. We had fun (playing) and they had some good talent out there. I held my own well. I did good."

Shaw also plans to visit USC and Kentucky this month.
