Last Monday Thomas informed InsidetheVille.com that he would discuss his options with his family and make a decision this weekend.
"I thought about it a lot the last few days," explained Boyce. "Coach Nord came by on Friday and I committed while he was here."
Boyce also considered Ohio and Wofford, where his older brother had played.
"I really like what they have going on at Louisville," said Boyce, who is fully qualified. "The new coaching staff is great. I like the style of offense that Coach Petrino uses and how he involves the tight ends. I'm looking forward to working with Coach Nord as well."
Thomas informed me that he expects to redshirt as a freshman, which will allow him to get a jumpstart on his desire to get a degree in business.
"I like what the school has to offer in business," Boyce said. "They have some pretty highly-rated business programs and I plan on getting my degree during my five years there."
He had 11 receptions for 189 yards in an option offense this past season. He also had 43 pancakes with a 93% grade.
