"He's probably going to Indiana in the next couple weeks and maybe Louisville," said Eric Martinez, Angel Nunez' mentor. "Maybe for midnight madness we'll got to Indiana. And then the week after that probably Louisville. I'm working out those visits right now. Most likely he's going to visit at least one of those two schools."
Martinez said Louisville still remains in contact with Nunez, who has been favorably compared to Francisco Garcia. "They're still heavily involved," Martinez said.
Nunez, who hails from the Bronx, transferred to Winchendon (MA) Prep for his junior in an effort to improve his academics and prepare for college.
"Angel is just focusing on academic at this point in time," said Martinez. "Then we'll deal with the unofficial visits when they come. I just want him to focus on academics and getting acclimated to Winchendon."
Martinez said coaches from St. Johns, Rutgers, West Virginia, Kansas, Cincinnati, Virginia and Seton Hall traveled to Winchendon to see Nunez in September. "I'm not sure if Indiana or Louisville were up to see him," Martinez said.
