"Death Valley is incredible," Chitty said. "It was just very alive. That's the best way to describe it. I loved the crowd.
"I'd love to play in front of that crowd on Saturdays or any day," he said.
Although the Tigers are Chitty's favorites right now, they haven't offered. "They keep in touch and send me mail," he said. "But they haven't said anything about an offer or anything."
So what else is it about LSU that Chitty likes? "I love the education they have and how great the program always is," he said. "I click well with all the coaches."
He says the Cardinals are recruiting him the hardest and he's planning on going to the Syracuse game on Nov. 14 unofficially.
He says the school that has impressed him the most so far this season is Auburn. "I think they are playing good," he said. "Coach Gene Chizik has them running. It's looking good down there now."
But Chitty admits that Auburn hasn't been recruiting him heavily this fall.
Chitty doesn't have any official visits set yet and is hoping to do that soon. "I'd definitely like to take some visits," he said. "I want to make sure I go to college and graduate and get my degree. I want to be a good fit academically and make sure the coaches care about academics too."
Besides taking trips, Chitty is hoping to make a decision soon too. "I'd like to commit soon early," he said. "I don't want to get left behind and I know it can happen."
"I'm just waiting to see if I get any more offers," Chitty said. "I'm hoping it won't be too much longer before I know. If I get the one I want, I'll do it."
And all signs are pointing to LSU being the one he wants.
Chitty reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 16 ACT, which he will be retaking in November.
