Anderson out for the season finale

Victor Anderson, the 2008 Big East Freshman of the Year, is done for the 2009 season. Anderson has missed several games late in the '09 campaign and Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe announced Monday morning that the sophomore's season is done.

Steve Kragthorpe announced on the Big East coaches teleconference Monday morning that sophomore running back Victor Anderson will have shoulder surgery on Tuesday.

"He's going to have surgery tomorrow," Kragthorpe said. "He's got that shoulder separation that hasn't come around like we thought it would. Had we been able to win last week and this week to qualify for a bowl he might have been able to play in that but since we're not going to be able to do that we'll just get him ready for spring ball because I want him available in spring practice. By having the surgery tomorrow we should be closer to that."

Anderson missed two games because of the injury but returned last week against Syracuse. Anderson, who carried three times in the first half for minus-7 yards, didn't return in the second half of that contest and didn't play in Louisville's 34-22 loss to South Florida on Saturday.

Despite missing three games, Anderson leads UofL with 473 yards and five touchdowns.
