Knowles, Siva out; Pitino shakes up lineup

Preston Knowles and Peyton Siva aren't expected to play Wednesday against Stetson because of injury. Rick Pitino also said he'll shake up his lineup in the wake of Saturday's 76-71 loss to UNLV. InsideTheVille.com has details.

Rick Pitino said Tuesday that his team likely will be without guards Preston Knowles and Peyton Siva when Louisville hosts Stetson Wednesday night.

"Preston, as well as Peyton, probably will be out for this game," Pitino said. "I'm hoping that Preston will be back by Thursday or Friday. Peyton sprained his wrist very bad when he blocked that shot, hasn't practiced and he's wearing a soft cast. I would say Preston will be back before Peyton. I think they'll both miss this game and I think they're questionable for Saturday's game [against Charlotte]. But I think Preston could play for Saturday's game."

Knowles and Siva were both injured during Louisville's 76-71 loss at UNLV Saturday. With those two out, Pitino will be forced to shuffle his lineup against Stetson.

"It hurts our quickness and we'll have to juggle our lineup," Pitino said. "We'll probably have Jerry Smith back up Edgar [Sosa] at the point and play Mike Marra a little more and start Reggie Delk."

Pitino also said he was going to make a change at power forward tomorrow, starting Rakeem Buckles instead of Jared Swopshire. Buckles had 10 points and 11 rebounds against UNLV.

"Rock's also going to start and he showed great competitive fire in that game," said Pitino. "We're not getting a whole lot of rebounding from certain people and the one thing he did when the ball was on the glass was go and get it. Rock was very intense and did a lot of things I liked in that game [against UNLV]."
