Three-star DT wants to hear from Louisville

Pat McNeil, a three-star defensive tackle from Mobile (AL) Davidson, is on the road to a college decision. The 6'3, 275-pound McNeil made his first official visit recently and is waiting to see how his recruitment materializes in January before making a decision.

Pat McNeil had an official visit scheduled to Louisville before Steve Kragthorpe was fired last month. Now, the No. 79 defensive tackle prospect in the nation is waiting to hear from new coach Charlie Strong.

"I had a visit scheduled but I've got to talk to the new coaches," McNeil said. "I was supposed to go up there in January. I haven't talked to Coach Strong yet but I'm pretty sure I will."

Before the coaching change, Louisville was a serious contender for McNeil's services. He was recruited by former assistant Jay Johnson and said the Cardinals were one of his favorites. "They were one of my top schools," said McNeil.

McNeil made his first official visit recently to Louisiana Tech. "It was a good visit," McNeil said. McNeil also made an unofficial visit to Florida State last weekend to watch bowl practice and he's hoping for an offer from the Seminoles. Louisville (prior coaching staff), Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Duke and New Mexico have offered. McNeil said Ole Miss is also in the mix.

"Everybody is still the same," McNeal said. "I'm just feeling around before I make a decision."
