Weekend Visit Updates

The biggest football recruiting weekend in Louisville history is under way. Saturday afternoon, Charlie Strong took his top recruits to Freedom Hall to watch the basketball Cardinals play St. John's. InsideTheVille.com has the latest from Freedom Hall...

COMMIT LIST (3) These are the guys who are visiting this weekend but have already given Louisville coach Charlie Strong a commitment.

B.J. Butler, four-star defensive end, Kissemmee (FL) Osceola
After Charlie Strong got the Louisville job, Butler de-committed Georgia and cast his lot with the Cardinals. He could make an immediate impact on defense next season.

UPDATE: On campus and attended basketball game.

Michaelee Harris, four-star wide receiver, Miami (FL) Northwestern
Harris committed to Louisville after teammate Corvin Lamb. A talented wide receiver who could play right away, Harris is talking about making a few more visits before National Signing Day. You can bet Charlie Strong and staff will work hard to lock this one completely down this weekend and convince him there isn't need for further visits.

UPDATE On campus and attending basketball game. Sitting right behind Tim Patterson.

Corvin Lamb, two-star running back, Miami (FL) Northwestern
Lamb was the first commitment Strong landed at Louisville and he's solid. He's also a big reason Louisville received a commitment from Harris and might also get commitments from Todd Chandler and Torrian Wilson.

UPDATE On campus and attending basketball game.

WATCH LIST (4) These are the guys that haven't committed to Louisville yet but there's a strong chance they will this weekend during their official visits.

Todd Chandler, four-star defensive tackle, Miami (FL) Northwestern
Those he's committed to South Florida, there a strong chance Chandler will switch his commitment to Louisville this weekend. There's precedence for Chandler to switch his mind. The big DT originally committed to Miami before choosing the Bulls. A teammate of Louisville commits Harris and Lamb, Chandler is expected to join them with the Cardinals. South Florida's firing of Jim Leavitt also doesn't help their cause.

UPDATE On campus and attending basketball game. Sitting next to B.J. Butler. A sign? Chandler is wearing a Louisville tabogan.

Tim Patterson, three-star defensive end, Louisville (KY) Central
Yes, Kentucky coach Joker Phillips has owned Central HS recently. Yes, Patterson claimed the Wildcats as his favorite last month. But Patterson, a lifelong Cardinal fan, is going to have a difficult time telling Strong no.

UPDATE: Just arrived at Freedom Hall with Doug Beaumont and Josh Chichester. He's sitting between Victor Anderson and Beaumont.

Zach Dunston, one-star cornerback, Virginia Beach (VA) Green Run
Dunston is Larry Slade's guy. He has good size and speed for a corner and could play a number of positions in the secondary. Dunston has already visited Kent State and he's scheduled to visit Marshall next week. If Louisville asks for a commitment this weekend, there's a solid chance Dunston will jump at the offer.

UPDATE Dunston was the only prospect on our list that we didn't see at the game. Not sure if there were weather problems or others reasons why Dunston wasn't there.

Chris Sharpe, two-star cornerback, Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson
Sharpe told Scout.com Thursday that Louisville is his favorite and that he would like to decide ASAP. If Strong wants to get this one done over the weekend it seems like a simple lay-up.

UPDATE:On campus attending game. Sitting next to Doug Beaumont and teammate DE Malcolm Strong.

WISH LIST (4) These are guys that Louisville would love to secure commitments from this weekend but might take a little more time.

Kadron Boone, four-star wide receiver, Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic
Boone is committed to Texas Tech but is looking around because of the dismissal of Mike Leach. Boone will check out Louisville first. Miami, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame are also trying to get him on campus for a visit this month. Louisville's a team to watch because of the connections of Strong, Kenny Carter and Vance Bedford and the opportunity for Boone to be a star as a freshman.

UPDATE:On campus and attending basketball game.

Reggie Wilkins, three-star cornerback, Shelby (NC) Crest Senior HS
Wilkins is currently committed to N.C. State but plans to check out North Carolina and Louisville to make sure of his decision. If the Cardinals can flip Wilkins it might take a scholarship away from a player like Dunston or Sharpe, depending on how the numbers set up.

UPDATEOn campus and attending basketball game. Sitting next to Greg Scruggs.

Kamal Hogan, three-star running back, Montvale (NJ) St. Joseph
Hogan will almost definitely play in the Big East. He'll check out Louisville this week, then is scheduled to visit Syracuse next week. The Orange are the favorite but word is Louisville really likes Hogan's potential. Strong and assistant Kenny Carter might push hard for commitment. If they do, Hogan will have a lot of thinking to do.

UPDATE: On campus and attending game. Sitting with Kamran Joyer

Torrian Wilson, three-star offensive lineman, Miami (FL) Northwestern
Kenny Carter went down to Miami and convinced Wilson to make a visit to UofL this weekend with his high school teammates. Wilson is looking for immediate playing opportunity, something the Cardinals can offer. Don't be shocked if he decides to join teammate Lamb, Harris, and probably Chandler at Louisville.

UPDATE On campus and attending basketball game. Sitting next to Michalee Harris.

WAIT AND SEE LIST (4) These are guys Louisville has interest in but we'll have to wait and see where they fit into the Cardinals overall recruiting plans.

Senorise Perry, two-star wide athlete, Summerville (GA) Chattooga
Perry doesn't have an offer from Louisville but the Cardinals definitely love his speed and playmaking potential. If Strong offers, Perry is headed to Louisville to play for the Cardinals.

UPDATE On campus attending basketball game.

Dan Foose, three-star offensive tackle, Paramus Catholic (NJ)
Foose is a hard man to get in contact. He's visited Illinois and UCF and plans to check out Louisville and Virginia before making a decision. Foose held an offer from the previous Louisville staff so he's familiar with the Cardinals.

UPDTAEOn campus attending basketball game.

Malcolm Strong, one-star defensive lineman, Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson
A teammate of Chris Sharpe, Strong is a mystery man. He's not been heavily recruited, doesn't have big-time offers and only recently vaulted into the discussion with Louisville. Apparently he's a solid prospect with good size and speed. We're interested to see what Louisville does this weekend on this recruitment.

UPDATE: On campus at game. Sitting next to teammate Chris Sharpe.

Kai Dominguez, one-star wide receiver, Montvale (NJ) St. Joseph
Is Dominguez a serious possibility for Louisville or just tagging along with teammate Kamal Hogan. We'll see?

UPDATE: On campus attending basketball game with his father.
