Foster enjoys Louisville visit

Glenville, Ohio running back/wide receiver Tony Foster made an official visit to Louisville this weekend. The 5'9, 170-pound Foster was hoping for an offer from Charlie Strong. Did the Cardinals put one on the table on Foster's visit?

Tony Foster enjoyed his official visit to Louisville but will have to wait and see if the Cardinals will make a scholarship offer.

"I had a nice visit," Foster said. "I definitely liked the facilities and they showed us a good time. We went to the Muhamad Ali museum and they took care of my family. We enjoyed ourselves."

The big question for Foster heading into the visit was whether Louisville would make an offer. The Cardinals are recruiting the 5'9, 170-pound Foster as a wide receiver but told him this weekend they need to see how the numbers shape up at other positions of need in this recruiting class before they extend a scholarship offer.

"They said not yet," Foster said. "They told me they need other positions so we have to wait and see. They're recruiting me as a wide receiver. I played wide receiver in high school but mostly running back."

Louisville assistant Larry Slade has been recruiting Foster, who has an offer from Toledo. Foster recently visited Toledo and is talking to UNC and Cincinnati about setting up visits later this month. Louisville coach Charlie Strong told Foster the Cardinals will be in touch.

"He said he's going to keep in touch with me and let me know about a scholarship," Foster said. "I'm probably going to visit North Carolina and I might visit Cincinnati, too. I'll know by Wednesday about Cincinnati next weekend."
