Louisville high on Elliott's list

James Elliott, a 6-3, 290-pound offensive tackle from Pensacola (FL) Catholic, has picked up four offers this spring, including one from Louisville. The Cardinals are currently high atop Elliott's list and he's planning a visit to Louisville this spring.

James Elliott, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive tackle from Pensacola (FL) Catholic, didn't start playing football until his freshman year of high school.

Elliott, though, has been a quick study and is starting to collect some nice offers. Louisville recently offered, as did Florida International, South Alabama and Texas Tech. Elliott has also visited a pair of SEC programs and plans to visit several schools this spring.

"I have visited Florida and Alabama and enjoyed them very much and I have visits set up for Texas Tech, Louisville, Clemson, FSU, and Ole Miss," Elliott said. "I want to go to my top five colleges campus'." Elliott plans to visit Louisville in the near future.

Elliott says he's hearing the most from Louisville, Alabama and Texas Tech and lists, in order, his Top 5 favorites as Alabama, Louisville, Texas Tech, Clemson and Arkansas.

Elliott, who plays left tackle for his high school team, bench presses 325 pounds and owns a 550 pound squat. He also moves well for a lineman, having run the forty in 5.1 seconds.

"I started playing football my Freshman year," Elliott said. "I played basketball which kept my conditioning and quickness up. My [strength] in football would be my speed. I need improvement in acceleration off the ball."
